Originally from the Ottawa area, Lucas Rowe came to Boxing by Syd Vanderpool as an amateur boxer in 2007. He immediately made an impression, winning gold in both the Summer Hays in 2008 and Golden Gloves in 2009.
After his success in the ring, Rowe brought his skill and talent to the coaching team at BBSV where he trained members of all ages and skill levels.
In 2012, he spent three months training in Ghana, Africa, an experience that expanded his knowledge of the sport, and his passion for training.
Upon his return to Canada, Rowe brought his positive energy and determination to the administrative team at BBSV. He also returned to he ring in 2013, winning provincial gold and placing 2nd in his weight category at the Ringside World Championships in Missouri.
The fast-talking welterweight followed this up with a national title at the World Boxing Council’s national boxing championships in Langley, BC.
Forever a member of BBSV, Rowe, a graduate of Leadership Waterloo Region, is currently focused on his role as a community leader. He is an active facilitator of several outreach programs and mentor, as well as working in real estate development.
